On the need to protect sensitive security information in the public

Print and electronic journalists and security analysts help a lot in freely supplying sensitive security information to terrorists almost on a daily basis.

It's an irresponsible journalism for a journalist to insistently ask security analysts, security personnel, and political leaders questions bordering on sensitive security information just to scoop and sell headline news for their media organization.

It's an utter lack of discretion and irresponsible leadership for a security personnel or a political leader to openly reveal and discuss sensitive security information just to impress the media and the public that they're working.

Many lives continue to be lost as a result of these practices. If the practices continue, the system may need to legislate against irresponsible request for, response to, and dissemination of sensitive security information in public fora.

It's better to maintain total strategic silence on security issues and to let our works, rather than our words, work for us in the public. Security of lives and properties is of paramount importance.
